Common questions about joining us

What experience do I need to work at Lily Cho Design?
It depends on the role. For design roles, we care about your eye and your hand — show us work that demonstrates you can draw and think through a garment. For production roles, we care about precision and process. A formal fashion qualification is useful but not required; what we cannot teach is care and attention to craft.
What is the hiring process at Lily Cho Design?
Our process is intentionally short. We start with a brief conversation to understand your background and what you are looking for. If there is a mutual fit, we ask for a practical exercise relevant to the role — for designers, that means sketching. We aim to respond within two weeks of the first conversation. You will always speak directly with the people you would be working with.
Are roles at Lily Cho Design studio-based or flexible?
Most roles have a studio component — design and production work is hands-on by nature. We are based in Australia and work flexibly where the role allows. Some roles are fully studio-based; others can be partly remote. This is noted in each job description.
